Our Mission

To develop and pursue teaching process that inspire and motivate budding engineers to indulge in research, innovation and technology development for the benefit of the society so as to equip them to meet challenges in the ever growing field of electronics with professionalism.

  • Dr. Baiju M.R - Received Gold medal for best PhD thesis from  IISc, Bangalore (2005)

  • Dr. Ciza Thomas - Got Appreciation award from Higher education department ,Govt. of Kerala for implementing k-base project for all Engineering and polytechnic colleges (2010)

  • Received IEEE Region 10 Outstanding student branch award 2013 (2nd place) 

  • NSS unit, College of Engineering Trivandrum,under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Deepa P. Gopinath, Assistant Professor of the department, bagged 4 state level awards of Technical Cell- i) Best Unit ii) Best Programme Officer Award  iii) Best Volunteer and iv) Top scorer award. (2013-14)

About the Department

The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department was established  at CET Campus , Sreekariam in 1965. The undergraduate program on Electronics and Communication engineering was started with an intake of 33 students. 

Currently, the department offers: (i) B. Tech. Degree programs on Electronics and Communication Engineering (full-time and part-time), Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (full-time only); (ii) M. Tech. degree programs on Microwave and Television Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation,  Signal Processing, Micro and Nano Electronics. 

All the courses in the department are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The department is also ISO (ISO 9001-2000) certified since 01-01-2001.

1999 - The ECE branch was accredited with A5 grade

2001 - The department got ISO 9002: 1994 certification

2007 - Both the B. Tech programs(ECE ,AEI) and M.Tech (MTV) were accredited with A5 grade. The M.Tech program on AEI got A3 grade

2013 - B. Tech programs on ECE and AEI, and M.Tech on MTV  are accredited with A5 grade. The M.Tech programs on AEI  and SP got A3 grade

How to Reach

By Air:
Thiruvananthapuram is well connected to the rest of the world through many domestic and international flights daily. In the airport, you shall get a cab to CET at pre-paid taxi counter. It will cost about Rs. 500/-. The near by places of CET are Sreekariyam/ Chavadimukku/ kulathoor/ Manvila. 

By Bus:

The main bus terminus in Thiruvananthapuram is located at Thampanoor (opposite to the Trivandrum central railway station). Public Transport buses to the CET college campus can be found.

If direct bus is not available, find public transport  buses via Sreekariam/ Chavadimukku. Please disembark the bus at Sreekariam/Chavadimukku. CET is at adistance of 2.0 km from Sreekariam and 1 km from Chavadimukku. You shall get connection buses to CET from Sreekariam or Chavadimukku.  CET  is only at 10 minutes walking distance from Chavadimukku. You may hire an autorickshaw (Rs. 20-30/-) to reach to the CET College from Sreekariyam/ Chavadimukku. 

By Train:
Please alight at the Trivandrum central railway station at Thampanoor. From the railway station you may proceed to the Thampanoor bus stand (please see the above paragraph for reaching CET College by bus). You may also board a pre-paid autorickshaw just outside the Trivandrum railway station (Autorickshaw charge will be around Rs. 120/-).
